Dr. Kevin Lutz, R.Psych
(CHCPBC #2709; CAP #7609)
Kevin is a Registered Psychologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience across the continuum of mental health care, including general mental health, addictions, severe and persistent mental illness, and forensic psychiatric populations. Since 2013, he has devoted much of his practice to supporting those who have experienced stress, trauma, and other significant life events, facilitating both individual treatment and group-based programs.
Kevin has extensive experience supporting military and first responder communities. He provides direct clinical care, consultation, and specialized psychoeducational workshops to organizations across British Columbia, Alberta, and internationally. His work is grounded in a strong understanding of cumulative stress, trauma, moral injury, and the unique cultural factors that influence the wellbeing of those who serve.
In addition to his clinical work, Kevin participated in a large-scale psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy research project for several years as both a sub-investigator and clinical therapist and served as an international trainer for clinicians seeking to develop competency in delivering psychedelic-assisted therapies.
Kevin integrates evidence-based, client-centered approaches tailored to each person’s needs. His therapeutic toolkit includes EMDR, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, somatic and body-focused approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, and specialized group psychotherapy. He has deep interest in trauma recovery, and supporting clients in rebuilding a sense of safety, meaning, and connection after difficult or unforgettable events.
