Agnieszka Wyka, RCC
(BCACC #19008)
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. My interest in becoming a counsellor started when I decided to explore the effects of immigration and inter-generational trauma on my emotional wellbeing. My family had experienced war, systemic oppression and immigration. Although it wasn’t labelled as such at the time, post-traumatic stress compounded over the years and was passed from generation to generation. I started learning about the impact of unresolved trauma on the nervous system, and the emotional distress that is the result, that I was able to finally change the way I was able to start heal.
I pursued a career in journalism because I wanted to help people who suffered from injustice and the diverse impacts of oppression. And while I was able to help people tell their stories and have a voice, I realized I connected with their emotional distress and wanted to support them in healing. That is when my career in counselling began to take shape.
I am deeply passionate about helping others heal from the impacts of unresolved trauma and addiction, as well as grief, chronic anxiety, depression and anger. I am committed to helping my clients find freedom from angst, enhance their love relationships, and achieve the life they want to live. I believe the journey to wellness starts with a genuine connection, empathy and understanding – as well as trust. I take a compassionate, direct and client-centered approach to help my clients reach their goals and enhance their emotional health, wellness & resilience
Agnieszka will be available to see clients the first week of May.
Andrew Jarvis, RCC, CD
(BCACC #23389)
Andrew is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and provides support to adults facing stress, trauma and difficult life events. His clinical experience spans general mental health, PTSD, moral injury, and motor vehicle accident recovery, with a focused practice serving military veterans, first responders, professionals in high-stress occupations, and those affected by traumatic events. Andrew works with both individuals and groups, and is involved in research with military and healthcare worker populations, with particular interest in moral injury.
Before becoming a therapist, Andrew spent 15 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Witnessing firsthand the toll that operational deployments took on his friends and colleagues, he made a deliberate transition into a second career devoted to care and recovery. This background gives him an authentic and grounded understanding of the cultures, pressures, and silent struggles that shape the lives of servicemembers.
Andrew's approach is collaborative, client-centred, and evidence-based; built on the belief that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful change. He draws from a range of modalities tailored to each person's needs, including EMDR, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness-based methods, and Therapeutic Enactment. At the heart of his work is a genuine passion for trauma recovery and helping clients rebuild a sense of meaning and purpose.
Andrew understands first-hand that reaching out for help takes courage, and that the process of healing is not always easy. His commitment to every client is simple: to ensure they feel heard, respected, and understood from the very first conversation.
Andrew is only able to see client via telehealth/virtually.
Andrew will be available to see clients the second week of May.
